Leaves in the Wind
Like Leaves, we are scattered,
We can’t even see,
We’ve been carried so far,
Blown from our Tree.
The Winds of Life have carried us,
to a different time or place,
We’re all out there whirling, twirling,
As if we’re lost in space.
We blow along different paths,
Separate from each other,
Our lives ever changing,
Just like the weather.
Not quite able to make it back,
to the place we were before,
Time and Life have changed us,
we’re just not the same anymore.
Sadly, I look out, into the sky,
Watching, as the rest of you
Blow right by,
Sometimes you’ll pause,
And we’ll exchange a smile,
A small interaction,
That lasts just awhile.
Then we’re carried off,
Blown away once again,
Whisked away from each other,
Lost in the Wind.
We can’t even see,
We’ve been carried so far,
Blown from our Tree.
The Winds of Life have carried us,
to a different time or place,
We’re all out there whirling, twirling,
As if we’re lost in space.
We blow along different paths,
Separate from each other,
Our lives ever changing,
Just like the weather.
Not quite able to make it back,
to the place we were before,
Time and Life have changed us,
we’re just not the same anymore.
Sadly, I look out, into the sky,
Watching, as the rest of you
Blow right by,
Sometimes you’ll pause,
And we’ll exchange a smile,
A small interaction,
That lasts just awhile.
Then we’re carried off,
Blown away once again,
Whisked away from each other,
Lost in the Wind.
